Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 127956
Text Format Not Consistent Between OSes

Created attachment 86565 [details] The Impress file When I take a file that I created in Windows, and then open it in MacOS the text formatting is off. Some fonts this doesn't happen, some fonts are slightly different, and some fonts are majorly different. In Impress the differences are more noticeable than in Writer. In fact one of them is the Hebrew font which is the exact same file on both machines. I even went as far as to copy one of the main fonts (Times New Roman) from my Windows machine to my Mac - and that didn't make any difference.

So as you can see, the spacing between the lines in the Times New Roman is slightly noticeable (if you look at the bottom line with the t's you can see that the Mac version is slightly higher. But with the Hebrew font the spacing between the line is drastically noticeable. To get them to look the same, I have to change the paragraph line spacing to 119% proportional on the Mac.
Fonts are installed at system level, and then become available to all applications. Are you sure to have same "Times new roman"? For me: not a AOO bug
Did you install and tried the Hebrew font? As shown in the screen shots, the variation between Win/Mac for Times New Roman is very minor - but as you can see with the Hebrew font it is major. If you didn't already, please try with the Hebrew font. Also, please try it in impress (if you didn't already), as it is much more noticeable there (as mentioned). And if your systems are not showing the issue, please post a screen shot. (And yes, as I stated, I even copied the TTF from my Win machine and installed it on my Mac machine to make sure it wasn't a variation with a different version.) Thanks.
(In reply to brakky from comment #6) > Did you install and tried the Hebrew font? No, because if I download and read properties: this font is licensed So, you should contact owner's font and report back this problem. If you want write with hebrew, you can insert it as special character.
I am confused by your response "No, because if I download and read properties: this font is licensed" It is a free font, that was freely distributed on their website: http://web.archive.org/web/20100805141308/http://www.truelyamazingfacts.org:80/ So I do not understand your issue with installing the font and opening up the impress file to confirm this problem.

"TAF Hebrew Book" is unknow with a DaFont.com search. You should try with another hebrew free font. And reopen this report if you can reproduce again.
What does any of that have to do with the fact that there is a bug in OpenOffice? I have pointed out how this issue is also present in Times New Roman. The issue in Times New Roman is much much smaller - that its hard to see, but it is there. But the Hebrew font that I am using the issue is very clear and apparent. The font itself is fine. I have used it for over 20 years in countless programs and applications. The only time it has ever had an issue is in the Mac version of OpenOffice - as I have pointed out.
Also, have you even tried installing the font? A year ago you refused to for some reason that didn't make any sense to me.
Ok... I downloaded a different Hebrew font - and it does the same thing. I will upload the test doc and the font.

Oh, I must apologize.... I read the date wrong - it hasn't been a year. My mistake.
