Screenshots illustrating issue

Steps to reproduce:

1. in Sidebar select Navigator
2. undock it
3. click anywhere in sheet outside Navigator window
4. now click anywhere in gray vacant area of Navigator window

Mysterious rectangle (sort of pressed button) appears in the upper part
   of Navigator window.

If you resize Navigator window, rectangle disappears.
If you then click outside the window and click inside the window (gray
   vacant area) rectangle reappears.

Notice that same effect can be achieved when other deck of sidebar is selected (Properties, Styles and Formatting, Gallery, Function).

In attached file "Sidebar-WTF" you will see suitable screenshots. Mysterious button is green-encircled.

This bug looks like a tasty morsel for AOO developers.

Addendum:

Once you "achieved" mysterious rectangular area you can get rid of it
by clicking any of deck in Navigator window. Hope that information
maybe of use in computer forensics.
Comment 2 Czesław Wolański 2020-03-07 03:13:25 UTC
Glitch reproducible in AOO Writer, Draw & Impress
for all decks but Navigator. Strange.
Comment 3 Czesław Wolański 2020-03-07 03:23:44 UTC
In AOO Calc glitch reproducible for ALL decks in sidebar.

(original report including screenshots in attached file were
based on test carried out in AOO Calc).
Comment 4 Czesław Wolański 2020-03-07 03:56:28 UTC
AOO Calc - in case of Navigator, glitch is related to sidebar.

If you display Navigator via menu (View > Navigator) or <F5>, dock it,
undock it and apply test procedure you won't see any undesired effect.

I am attaching file "Comparison" with adequate screenshots.

Comment 8 Matthias Seidel 2020-03-07 13:00:12 UTC
Yes, this is mysterious.

I can not reproduce it on any system I have...
Comment 9 Matthias Seidel 2020-03-07 15:31:33 UTC
After guessing what you mean with "vacant area" I could now reproduce it.

On Windows 10 it is just a blue rectangle.

Thanks for immense patience. If you did not understand my description
I am ready to take full responsibility. (Would remote flagellation suffice?)

But with one vital exception. Wording: "gray vacant area" is not mine.
One can encounter it in online Help for AOO and in User Guides available
at AOO sites. The context therein is exactly the same as in my description.

Anyway you are hereby officialy authorized to blame me. Gliches like me. ;‑)

Just for the record:
