Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 13257
Form combo box to have multiple columns
Last modified: 2017-05-20 10:47:39 UTC
I was wondering is it possible to have multiple columns in a combo box on a form. This is a feature I use extensively in MS Access and I find it does not exist in most other products with Forms. It is in fact a feature by which I review all other packages which shows how convenient and powerful it is. In MS Access it is possible to have multiple columns. Nominated which column is bound Nominate the widths of the columns so that if the first column is a code and the second column is a description, the code set to zero width and thus hidden. No other product have I seen that allows for multiple columns in a combo box in a Table Control which can also be included in a sub form. Should you need any further information please do not hesistate to ask. Kelvin
assigning to user experience for evaluation IMO, we need this anyway for MS interoperability - MS users are used to this feature.
change subcomponent to 'none'

Partially list box have such feature (it supports 2 columns), and amazing thing is that actually it works and looks as combo box.
For an initial version of a specification for this feature, look at http://dba.openoffice.org/specifications/index.html#forms. If you want to comment on it, you're most welcome to do so: mailto:users@dba.openoffice.org?subject=%5Bspec%20review%5D%20multi%20column%20list%20and%20combo%20boxes
