Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 13290
OOo (MS-Windows) should inherit Windows UI settings
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:43:11 UTC
It's annoying that OOo 1.1 on Windows uses a different font for menus than the rest of Windows, which makes the program look odd, and not well integrated in the OS. A properly programmed Windows application should use the font that is configured for the whole of the Windows UI (Display Properties dialog). I am aware of issue 3745 (changing the menu font is possible) but in the Windows version this should really not be necessary. Even programs such as Eudora Light 3.0, which was written in 1997, appropriately uses the menu font as specified in Windows' Display Properties dialog. I found that if the menu font size and selection is changed in that dialog, the menu font size in OOo does change appropriately, so at least some of those UI settings are applied in the program. This should also be the case with the menu font selection.
