Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 13907
Export to AutoCAD compatible file format
Last modified: 2013-04-20 13:55:16 UTC
It would be nice to be able to export a OO-Draw file to a AutoCAD compatible file format. Arne
Reassigned to Bettina.
What's the matter with exporting to PNG or JPG and then import it into AutoCad. You have several different graphics to choose from already.
PNG and JPG can't be edited (at least not as vector graphics) in AutoCAD. You may start sketching in OODraw and then want to complete detailed drawing in AutoCAD (or give to someone who will, like an architect). Arne
Here are some format descriptions for DWG: http://home.planet.nl/~faase009/DWG12.html Here is a DXF description in depth: http://adeskftp.autodesk.com/prodsupp/downloads/dxf.pdf AutoDesk apparently wants people to use DXF as the format of choice.

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on my owner to the owner "requirements".
If somebody do it - it will be great thing. Draw is very free, good and easy to start working with simple engineering draws. But sometimes it's needed to give it to real engineering working and it is needed to full redraw in CAD.
