Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 14211
Heading numbering in conditional/hidden sections is still counted
Last modified: 2006-01-30 14:16:51 UTC
If you have a conditional section in your document, and it has headings in it with the heading numbering turned on, then the next heading after the hidden section will look like the hidden section wasn't hidden. That is, if I have: 1. Heading A Conditional Section 1 2. Heading B End Section 1 3. Heading C Heading C will always be 3., regardless of whether or not Section 1 is hidden. This seems counter-intuitive, as it means that it is hard to exclude sections and then have the formatting work out correctly.

Even if the OP did not reply, this is and remains an issue with hidden sections. Headings continue to be counted wether the section is hidden or not. It is easy enough to reproduce that. This issue should therefore be reopened and be acted upon when time and resources permit. See this recent thread on Ooo forum http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?p=122408
