Description magrawal 2003-05-13 19:20:34 UTC
I am attaching 3 documents.

The word document is the original.

footnote_demo_copy was created by copying all the text in word and pasting into
a new writer document.

footnote_demo_import was created by opening the word document in writer.

Note that copy does not render the footnote correctly. But importing does. You
may call it a feature request, but I think not being able to render footnotes
upon copying and pasting text is a defect.

reassigned to mru
can you please take a look at this issue?
Comment 5 michael.ruess 2003-09-17 07:50:08 UTC
when the RTF format is inserted via Clipboard it looks fine (go to
Edit.Past special).

MRU->ES: The 1.0.x used HTML format from Clipboard as default (1.1 RC4
uses RTF as default). And Footnotes aren't supported in HTML, are they?
Comment 6 eric.savary 2003-09-23 14:24:48 UTC
ES->MRU: as discussed, the first format chosen has always been HTML. ;)
ES->FL: As discussed we should change the format priority for the
Writer to:
1. MS-Word
2. RTF
3. HTML
...

FL: Please find the specification on OO.org:
http://specs.openoffice.org/appwide/clipboard_drag_and_drop/Drag_and_Drop_and_Clipboard.sxw
The behavior is described in the chapter "Clipboard Default Formats".

Due to time restrictions, this can't be implemented for OO 2.0.
