Description vreid47362 2003-05-23 05:34:26 UTC
I have the Java 1.4.0 and 1.3.1_07 sdk's installed on my Windows 2000 box.
When I tried to Install OO Beta 2, it refused to recognize the existance of any
Java Runtime environments on the computer.

I have the same set-up at work except the Operating System is Windows 98 Second
Edition. When I installed OO Beta 2 on it, the program recognized both Java
Runtime environments without a problem.

on my Windows98 installation, Java 1.4.0_01 was also not recognized,
then i updated to the latest version, 1.4.1_02 and was recognized.
unfortunately, is not specified in the Release Notes or Readme the
minimum requirement for Java

This is not a P1 issue. The requirements have changed.
Workaruond: Update jave to
1.4.0_02, 1.4.0_03 etc.
1.4.1_01, 1.4.1_02 etc.
1.4.2 etc.
Joachim,
please write a 'change mail' to the belonging list.

Note that jvmsetup specifies that you need 1.3.1 or later. If 1.4.x
is required, that message should probably be corrected.
Comment 6 joachim.lingner 2003-05-26 08:50:42 UTC
This bug was fixed and should be in the next release.
