Description gkai 2003-06-06 08:26:50 UTC
When you change an entry in the bibliographical database, it is not changed in
the documents where you inserted the entry before the change. This is good for
not spoiling academic work afterwards by quoting a wrong edition or something
like that, but it is bad for as simple things as correcting typos.

Perhaps some form asking whether you want the document changed at the next
opening would do the trick, some like "Change literature entry: at this place /
everywhere / nowhere". Works with the templates, I guess it could be adapted for
the bibliographical database without too much effort (no, I don't know anything
about programming, I'm just guessing).

Bye
Kai

I agree, but, sometimes I need special data for one article.
Example: I have in my database Enders 2001a, 2001b, 2001c
Now I'll like to use only one of these like Enders 2001c in an
article. So I'll change the year and the identifier in this article in
Enders 2001.

So OO should be so intelligent to see this - I think the best solution
is to ask what should be changed in each special case.

Yes, this really makes the bibliography (as it stands) completely
useless in spite of some *very* nice features. Because I was not
careful, I ended up with a useless bibliography table after fixed up
some misspelled entries in the bibliography and extpected the table to
refetch the data.

Do you have a workaround for this, by any chance?

You could write a macro to do this.

This issue is considered for OO.o later.

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
my owner to the owner "requirements".
