Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 15545
display of MS Equation editor objects in open office
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:55:55 UTC
I had a document in office XP that had a "p" with a tilda ("~") under it, in subscript. I opened the document in open office, and viewed it, and the "p" was there but the "~" had turned into a red "¿". This is what the command string looked like, with the "¿" in it: size 12{ {p} cSub { size 8{ sim } } } {} I modified it to: size 12{ {p} cSub { size 8{ "~" } } } {} and it displayed perfectly, I wouldn't bother posting this, but I am a school student, and I am constantly using office 2k at school and then comming home and opening the same documents, so while there are bugs like this I cannot use open office, simply because of time issues. There were a few more display errors, similar to this, but I am new to open office and "IssueZilla" (I think that's what it's called), so I figured I would just post about one first.
MRU->CMC: look at my attached sample. As neerolyte suggested, we should better import the tilde as "~" from Eqn.
Created attachment 6825 [details] WW8 with Eqn containing tilde sign
Its a small problem, but has some significant issues. Safest to do for 2.0
Fixed in limerickfilterteam08 for 2.0
reopen to reassign
cmc->mru: Working in limerickfilterteam08
Checked fix with internal CWs filterteam08.
Verified. Fix will be available in OO 2.0.
Checked OO 2.0 integration in 680m30.
