Description jvromans 2003-06-28 10:44:05 UTC
It is not possible to place frames and other
objects on a page that become part of the page style.
Comment 1 guido.pinkernell 2003-10-23 21:51:48 UTC
I can´t quite see the necessity for such a feature. Wouldn´t a Writer
document template do what you want? Please give an example. Thanks!

Ah yes, I see what you mean. Well, for once it is possible, as you
said in your attached file, to anchor an object to the header to have
it repeated on every page. And I do think that it solves your problem:
If you click on the object you will see that it´s still anchored to
the page (each page, that is). However I will set the RFE to New, lets
see, what the developers think about it.

Your intentions weren´t clear in your original summary. I´ve modified it.

From my previous comment:

"Ah yes, I see what you mean. Well, for once it is possible, as you
said in your attached file, to anchor an object to the header ... "
                               ^^^^^^
read "insert" instead of "anchor". Sorry for the mistake.

Sorry for the initial confusion, it is always hard to clearly explain
ones intentsions, especially in a non-native language.

It may be the case that a bug has been fixed (16809?) in 1.1.0 that
prevented anchoring an arbitrary frame to the heading.

I'm happy with the current situation, although I think it is less
confusing if evey object on a template page would become part of the
style.

I think this is more likely a duplicate of issue 16730 (which already
got approved), so you may want to close this as duplicate and transfer
your votes...

While it is possible to insert a textbox (won´t work with any other
object) into the header (and anchored to header paragraph) and have it
repeated on every page, it doesn´t print.

The textbox does show in Print Preview but, as I said, it doesn´t
print. Reopened as defect.

hi: > The aim is to hold issues as SHORT and CLEARLY as possible.

That was my saying some time ago when I opened a new Issue to clear up
and sum up the many comments, sometimes irrelevant, of another two
Issues. It got closed as a duplicate of one of the previous.

I hope this time it´s different.
