Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 16566
PDF Export: load/save general properties
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:05:13 UTC
I've enabled the option: Tools -> Options -> Load/Save -> General -> Save -> Before modifies properties. The Properties Windows appears everytime I try to export a PDF file of the same document, even when the Title has been set. This does not happen when I save a document. The dialog appear just once. Davide
cp->mba: confirmed, saving as ms.doc asks once to change properties, pdf asks each time. is this you ? which is the desired behavior when doing "save as ..." ? The check mark refers to "save".
Seems strange, but it's not a showstopper -> OOo2.0
cp forgot to actually change status to new...
This is not a bug, it's possibly an unfortunate feature. The dialog is shown everytime when the document is saved under a new name. An "export to PDF" of course always exports to a "new" name, because the name of the document never is the name of the pdf file. So perhaps we shouldn't show the dialog on export (not SaveAs!) at all, or only if the document never has been saved before (and still is "untitled"). ATM I would like to chose the first alternative, but I'm open for discussions. Frank, what is your opinion about this matter?
FL->MMP: As discussed. Seems to be your part due to PDF properties.
MMP->CP: Thanks for taking over.
not handled for 8 according to http://specs.openoffice.org/appwide/pdf_export/PDFExport.sxw
.
cp->pl: pdf enhancement
If i understand correctly this has nothing to do with PDF but with export UI in general ? This is something for you and your's then, isn't it ?
Sorry, but this bug handling is not acceptable to me. My question is still not answered, would you please give us your opinion about the dialog?
I am no longer officially active on OOo. Please take over.
@fl: Just to get rid of that issue (because a fix could be easy, depending on the decision what to do): Is it OK to never ask for property input when "exporting" (not "saving") documents?
Still continue with AOO 4.1.3
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
