Description lars 2003-07-14 22:21:14 UTC
change doc changed state (so allow saving) after cell content changed before
leaving cell

currently if on eenters a cell, enters or changes text, on eha sto leave teh
cell before on can save

it will save one click if one can save directly from the edited cell (without
leaving edit state of the cell!!)

In-cell editing will not modify the document, because you can cancel
editing with the Esc key. Therefore the cell is only modified, after
you have pressed Enter, or leaved the cell in another way. I have
really never felt uncomfortable pressing Enter and then Ctrl+S to save
my doc...

[how do you renter the cell via keyboard to continue editing? -- it
just happens that you think of saving while typing in a cell]

hmm: "reasons" to implement suggestion nevertheless:

1. if the user ESCapes, the document is simply 'changed' again: and
he's aware of it because he just saved what he has typed in but now
it's gone; so that would be no problem.

2. alternatively, [you don't through away the undo-log after save
operations, do you?] you resave again after ESCaping automatically
and also showing this by the nice transparent dialogue box as
mentioned in issue 7185.

We should keep our behaviour, as it is easier for users switching from
competitor to OO.o, as our behaviour is very similar here.
