Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 17209
F4 Data Source View -> Shift + Space looses current cell content
Last modified: 2017-05-20 10:47:45 UTC
When using data sources, specifically when entering data into the data source via OOo, the functionality of Shift + Space keystroke is annoying. Shift + Space selects the current column in focus (highlights the whole column). If you are typing away (inputting some data into the data source record) you use the shift key for symbols like :,>,<,?,|,+ etc. These symbols will almost always be followed by a space character. The problem is that while typing quickly, one's finger sometimes still presses shift after entering a symbol character, and the combination of this with the following space selects the whole database column. Open Office does not save the data you are entering before it selects the whole column. Thus, you lose any data you were typing into the data source in addition to the time spent typing it.
Reassigned to Éric.
ES->FS: Of course we won't change this shortcut (implemented for accessibility reasons) and who makes an mistake, makes an mistake... but: - when you leave a cell clicking somwhere else with the mouse, the cell content is saved. -> it should behave the same when selecting a row or column.
NEW
