Imported a space separated ascii datafile, everything ended up in col A. 
 
It would be very convenient to have a "text to col" conversion (similar to Excel) under Tools > 
text to columns.   A workaround is to use awk to put comma as field separator, but that is IMHO 
inefficient workflow.

Hi,

what's about using Find an Issue and entering the component
spreadsheet and the summary entry 'Text to'.

This will lead you to Issue 4040 which is the double to this one.
