Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 18706
Selecting Multiple Columns or Rows with Keystrokes
Last modified: 2008-09-24 08:35:20 UTC
I would like to be able to select multiple rows or columns using the keyboard. I would like to click on a column letter or a row number then hold the shift and arrow key to select the next row or column. For example, if I want to select columns A - D, I would click on column A, then hold the Shift Key and press the right arrow key 3 times.
Hi, just do it. For information on using OOo by keyboard, open the help system and search for accessibility. Hear you can find what you are searching for. Frank

This still doesn't work even in 3.0 rc2. This is standard functionality in other spreadsheet applications. I should be able to Select row & Shift + Page Down or Shift + End. These are standard functions within the sheet and should also work for Row and Column Select. Unfortunately when I do these on a row, for example, only the first column is selected. When I do it for a column only the first row is selected. Why does my original focus of "Row" change to cell (s) A, and focus of "Column" change to cell(s) 1? To be frank, my wife is an accountant and I had to uninstall OO from her machine and reinstall office for this function alone.
