Description andreschnabel 2003-09-06 15:41:59 UTC
If I export Paragraphs with bullets (assigned with numering / bullets) to RTF,
they are not displayed correctly in .rtf (I see a white 10 in a black circle)

Comment 3 andreschnabel 2003-09-06 15:47:30 UTC
this seems to be a problem with StarSymbol / OpenSymbol fonts.
Whe I open the .rtf in Word and look at the bullet's style, StarSymbol
is set as Font for the bullet. But I evan cannot switch back to OpenSymbol
Comment 4 jack.warchold 2003-09-08 17:40:45 UTC
jw: reassigned to mru

i can not reproduce this on my system, can you please take a look at
this issue
Comment 5 utomo99 2003-09-12 10:30:02 UTC
yes I can reproduce it on 1.1 Rc4 Win Xp

yes the bullet become white 10 inside black circle
Comment 6 utomo99 2003-09-16 09:16:56 UTC
change to new, confirmed. see above
Comment 7 michael.ruess 2003-09-17 11:55:55 UTC
MRU->CMC: I only can reproduce this, when I delete the StarSymbol font
from my system and only use OpenSymbol. Can you please have a look, if
this is filter or font related problem?
Comment 8 michael.ruess 2003-09-17 11:56:18 UTC
Target 2.0.
Comment 9 caolanm 2003-09-17 18:05:41 UTC
A little from column A, a little from column B. The problem is that
starsymbol is not installed on the destination machine, the font entry
in the rtf should at least say that opensymbol is a suitable fallback
when starsymbol is not installed.

More generally though, star and open symbol will not be installed on a
given, so the same type of magic symbol font mapping done in the ww
filter needs to be used in the rtf filter. i.e. issue 10242

*** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 10242 ***
Comment 10 caolanm 2004-02-17 11:47:06 UTC
Will split off this portion of the rtf bullet export problem and handle this first.
Comment 11 caolanm 2004-02-17 11:49:25 UTC
Fixed the example of this problem where the unicode points used are in the
normal official non-private area, and so a fallback font of Arial Unicode MS is
a sufficent solution. Done for westportfilterteam26 for 2.0.

The remaining problem of how to handle private area code points is fixed for the
ww8 filter, but is tricky to do for the rtf filter, this remain as issue 10242.
Comment 12 caolanm 2004-03-05 12:54:18 UTC
reopen to reassign
Comment 13 caolanm 2004-03-05 12:55:04 UTC
cmc->mru: This example should be good for westportfilterteam26 for 2.0. Though
general case still outstanding for some of the bullets which don't exist in unicode.
Comment 14 michael.ruess 2004-04-23 15:42:20 UTC
Has been fixed in Word export with this issue. RTF will be fixed with issue
10242, which has been submitted much earlier.
