Description germusic 2003-09-07 01:25:27 UTC
When trying to import a partial scan (request)after succesfully setting up a scanner
within openoffice (agfa spanscan e20) writer crashes. Unfortunaly it also crashes
the scanner (stays busy forever with every other application i use)

I would like but i can't send a crash report :(. The scanner has become
totally unreachable for any application. It seems that setting up the
scanner with OpenOffice mucked up the firmware in the scanner. Now
the scanner boots up just scanning a tiny area and reprting to
applications that it is busy.

I can confirm that with a HPG85 scanner under MDK 9.1 Linux and OOo
1.1 RC1, the same behaviour occurs. This makes at least two different
scanners that provoke the same behaviour. It is not so much a crash as
a freeze. OOo lets me scan the document, but when it comes to copying
the image from memory into writer , the whole app freezes. OOo will
accept no further mouse or keyboard input. You need to kill it to free
up the app and the ressources.

I'm setting the oooqa tag and confirming.
