Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 19415
Allow "Odd/Even" as well as "Right/Left"
Last modified: 2005-09-15 23:21:08 UTC
I have a project requiring page "1" to be on the back of the front cover (a "Left" page). A page break will not let me do it. I have to hard type the page numbers in each footnote, which means a different footnote or page style for every page. Please allow a choice between using "Odd/Even" and "Left/Right" pages and the opposite for pagination. In other words, I should be able to set an odd page number on a Left page if I need it.

A simple note: The suggestion I am making is not a common one, but does occur with some pamphlets and brochures. I have never seen it (odd number on a "left" page) in a book or magazine, but have seen it often in pamphlets and small brochures. I have no idea how it is done except through typesetting programs, but it would be a useful feature for OOo as I would like to be able to use OOo for all writing purposes I use.
Similar to this: I need some way of having an "essay with a title page" or single-sided printing or digital report to a client. Basically I need to have a First Page template that is immediately followed by a Default page. Currently I'm getting First Page, Blank Page, Default with no way of removing the Blank Page. I've opened the issue at http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=26750 but was asked to leave a comment here as well.
