Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 19518
drag and drop with ranges in Database View
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:41:58 UTC
Nothing beats a spreadsheet program for changing data, nothing beats a database for keeping it. I often use msAccess to input tables I have modified in msExcel. I would like to do the same in OO. Dragging out a table into a sheet is fine. But how do I get the data back into the DB? Copy-Paste works only with single fields. Drag-n-Drop too. The spreadsheet, although it refreshes and reflects the changes in the database, it cannot change the database. I would very much appreciate to have a way to input large amounts of data into a database with OO as frontend, either in a similar manner as msAcces (Copy-Paste, Drag-Drop) or differently in that the sheets can not only be a view of the DB but also update it. Maybe something like this is already planned for 2.0?
it's a feature so it's for you.
