Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 19718
RTF:Images in shprslt not used even when possible
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:41:36 UTC
I have a simple document with the image on the right side and text on the left. When writer imports the .rtf document it loses the image entirely. When writer imports the .doc file it mangles the image but keeps the word wrapping. I have attached a zip file with two files in it. GraphicWithWordWrap.doc GraphicWithWordWrap.rtf
Created attachment 9426 [details] Two files that reproduce the problem with RC4
I can Reproduce the problem on OpenOffice 1.1 RC4(default Install, US), Win XP Pro Sp1. (And MS Office XP Sp2). It is real problem The doc file, when opened in OOo the picture become broken picture the RTF when opened in OOo No picture is appear
add ms_interoperability, oooqa
Reassigned to MRU
Problem with the "mangled" graphic in the .doc is, because it is set to "Tight" wrapping in Word. This is comparable to "contour" wrapping in Writer. But Writer uses if different algorithm, which also takes care of non-white areas, for calculating the contour. Getting a compatibility for this is handled in a different issue. Workaround: Set the graphic to "parallel" wrapping; will match what you consider...
MRU->CMC: The graphic in the RTF document is completely missing.
Looks like we don't support the shprslt field.

cmc->mru: Ok with kilkennyfilterteam14. (I already have an issue for the assert which you will see, its not a new problem)

Yeah, looks good in CWS kilkennyfilterteam14.
Verified, "fix" will be integrated in OO 2.0.
Checked with OO 2.0 snapshot build 680m35. Closed.
