Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 19909
Special key defenitions
Last modified: 2003-09-26 18:45:14 UTC
In the Configuration, it is possible to bind special functions to keys. At the moment one can only choose from a list of pre-definded keys. In my case, I need a special comma, a special period, etc. And I want to bind them to <CTRL>-<,>, <CRTL>-<.>, etc. (see also my postings in the openoffice users mailing list). Suggested feature enhancement of this function: get rid of the list of pre-definded keys, and instead use a key-stroke recorder, allowing the user to enter any (unused) key combination. This is a for me very valuable function - it has been present in MS Word for ages, and I know many people actually use this. It is a pity to be restricted to only a bunch of pre-defined keys. Browsing that list is to me also more cumbersome than simply recording the key stroke I need.
