Description norbert2 2003-09-27 21:37:16 UTC
Hi,

When opening the window with the draw-tools (don't know the exact english word,
because using the german version) by clicking its button, I can see on my slow
PC that this window opens first with too much width. Then it gets smaller to fit
with its content. Similar windows (for example the one with the form-functions)
do not behave so.

I have added a screenshot to this problem.
Please note: This Screenshot has been made quickly after pressing the button to
open this window.

Confirmed with WinXP w/ OOo 1.1 English. When you select the Show
Draw Functions icon, the window is too wide on the right hand side.
It redraws to shrink down. Perhaps the window could be hidden prior
to the resize?
(Version updated from OOo 1.1 RC5 to 1.1 in order to indicate problem
still exists)

SBA: Target set to OOo 2.0.
Comment 4 stefan.baltzer 2003-11-06 17:33:48 UTC
SBA: When the Language support for CJK (Asian Languages) is enabled,
the box contains one more icon (vertical callout) beside the
horizontal callout (German: "Legende"). It looks like the box is
painting the full size (as if the "vertical" icon was there), then
repainting to the correct size because Asian Language support is
switched off.
So if the CJK support is enabled (via Tools-Options-Language
Settings-Languages), the box shows no problem.

One needs a slow system to even recognize this. Plus it is not an
everyday problem for the average user. Therefore I have strong doubts
if this is worth the effort at all.

Target set to "OOo later". Reassigned to Oliver.

Agree that this isn't a problem for the average user and as such is
nowhere near the most important issue :) However I must disagree with
the statement that you need a slow PC to recognise it - FYI mine PC is
a fairly fast PC and I easily saw it.
