Product Requirement
OpenOffice.org needs a powerful and intuitive database frontend.

Customer Need/Problem
Currently, the functionality to work with databases is sometimes hard to use for
the average user, since it is very hidden, and doesn't follow the concepts
people might expect.

Product Concept
We will redesign the user interface of the database application. Most notably,
the database access functionality will be promoted to an own top-level
application. Additionally, the parts of the user interface which currently
expose technical details the average user is not interested in will be reworked,
so that we meet her in her own vocabulary of concepts. This includes data source
administration, error handling, and form design and usage.
