Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 20329
Q-PCD EaseOfUse-20 (Simple 3d look)
Last modified: 2013-02-24 21:21:38 UTC
Source: Dieter Loeschky Category: Charts Product Requirement: Chart: Simple 3d look Customer Need/Problem: 3d charts imported by competing office productivity suites look different on import into OOo. Product Concept: The 3d charts in competing applications in general have a different look than our 3d charts. Especially the perspective and shading in competing applications charts are less realistic. In contrast, reading values in an competing applications 3d chart is probably easier. For this different pseudo 3d look there was recently integrated functionality into the 3d drawing engine. This will be usefull if we introduce an additional look to our 3d charts. It is not intended to skip our old look but to offer the pseudo 3d look in addition. Charts imported from competing applications will get the pseudo look while newly generated charts should still be created in our old 3d look by default. Functional Specification: there will be an additional property at some of the 2d charts (bar, column and area) that switch the visual apperance from standard 2d to pseudo 3d. For the 3d look we will use the auto-shapes that are currently being implemented in the drawing layer.
