Description mikesloman 2003-10-10 05:58:47 UTC
When exporting a writer file to pdf with grahics included (
insert->graphics->file) Any postscript files (ps,eps, epsi formats) fails to
produce an image in the output, printing instead the placeholder in the case of
a ps/eps or the preview image in the case of epsi. This behaviour was also seen
in 1.1RC5. The documents print OK to the printer or File though.

Hi,

I can only see a placeholder instead of the image in the .sxw

Known problem like in issue 19498 ?

Reporter, please attach separate textfile, eps-file and
step-by-step-instruction how to create a testfile and how to reproduce
the testfile (pls have a look to the QA-handbook on
<http://qa.openoffice.org/servlets/ProjectDocumentList> concerning
step-by-step-instructions!).

I only see placeholder instead of image
Comment 6 mikesloman 2003-10-10 08:28:34 UTC
Yes that's correct. A raw ps or eps with no preview only shows a
placeholder. It prints to a printer or File OK

An epsi file (that has the embedded preview) shows correctly in the
frame and the *preview* does get put correctly into the exported pdf
but not the real ps/eps image.

Will review in light of issue 19498 and submit requested files.

Comment 12 lohmaier 2003-10-13 15:55:44 UTC
duplicate. Short explanation: OOo doesn't include a PS-interpreter
Workaround: use ghostscript to convert postscript to PDF (run spamin
and add a PDF-Converter)
Longer explanation see issue 14163 (and duplicates thereof)
