Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 21514
Probably GDI resource leak
Last modified: 2004-09-16 08:50:46 UTC
When drawing circles or rectangles in a write-document OO hangs with the win9x white error message. nothing interesting it only says: Application Error with an Ok button. And clicking on it OO exits. And it happens that MSN-Messanger 6 (yes, I must use it) loose buttons images...
Are you able to provide a screenshot of the error and/or MSN Messenger's missing buttons? (Just so we can get a better idea of what you're seeing).

This error appears also using 'Presentation'. I created an empty presentation and I added 2 rectangles and I wrote a text inside the first one. Then OO automatically try to save my file (the saving progressbar appears bottom of the screen). But it fails.. everything hangs! (look at the screenshot)
Change to framework as not only in writer but also in presentation Reassign issue to owner of selected subcomponent
TM->MSC: As talked about, please have a look.
Hi, I have some questions. 1. how many RAM do you have? 2. does the crash also happend when you close all other programms( and the many programms in the systray beside the clock )? Bye Marc
The computer with the problem is a portable computer with 64 MB of RAM and the problem happens even when all other applications are closed. Today the problem appears to be solved installing the http://download.microsoft.com/download/msninvestor/Patch/1.0/WIN98/EN-US/mcrepair.EXE patch. Very soon I will update this thread if the problem appears again or not.
just info http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/03/01/gdileaks/default.aspx http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/01/03/leaks/default.aspx http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=243318 maybe related. Thanks.
