Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 21776
Spell Checker changes formatting
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:38:26 UTC
Type a mispelled word in bold then type a correctly spelled word in regular type face. If you right click on the mispelled word and select the correct spelling it will change the mispelled word to regular typeface.
can you explain step by step. especially : If you right click on the mispelled word and select the correct spelling how can you do that ? When I use the spellcheck the bold still bold
The following should demonstrate the problem: 1. In a new document type "word [CTRL-B] wooord [CTRL-B] word" 2. Right click on "wooord" in bold. 3. Select "word" from the popup menu. 4. It should change "wooord" in bold to "word" in plain (non-bold) text.
I can confirm this on OOo 1.1, win xp. . Bold text replaced by normal text by spellchecker.
Reassigned to MRU
MRU->TL: This only happens if the mispelled (hard formatted) word is the first of a paragraph.
TL->MRU: Back to you for reassignement and retargetting
MRU->FME: As discussed with TL, not a problem of the spellchecker. Happens somewhere when formatting.
.
I can confirm this on OOo 1.1.4, LinuxIntel. Text formating is changed when I replace word with italic font via russian spell checker (if previous character was non-italic only). The same takes place when I replace formatted text.
I can also confirm this on OOo 1.1.4, Windows Xp (service pack 2). Just a note, to replicate, make sure AutoSpellCheck is checked; to do so, go to the text editor, go to "Tools", go to "Spellcheck", and check on "AutoSpellCheck"

I can confirm this on OOo 2.0 on Debian, so I believe that the Version and OS should be modified.
