Description Unknown 2003-11-19 11:10:35 UTC
The topic maybe somewhat vague but i will try and set it appart here...

When i open a new document in writer and start with a topic like:

(font: Times size: 10)

My huishold - my house

and then make the font point bigger (pt. 14 in my case)
the sentence changes to:

My huishold ? my house

I tried it on different computers (Linux - we do have MAcs or Widows @ our
company) and the problem occured in every single computer using Ooo 1.1.

Is this a font problem?

My configuration:

AMD athlon XP 2600
512 MB DDR
200 GB HD
Nvidia 64 MB Display driver

Linux kernel 2.4.20 / GNU/Debian
OpenOffice 1.1.0 (downloaded last week)
Spellcheckers installed (standard, Dutch, France and sun)

Hope this information can resolve the issue.

Please Attach the documents which make this problem, so we can test
it/faster to confirm.
(Without the documents, we cannot confirm the problem easily/need more
time)
Don't forget to cut other part of the documents, so the file size is
small, but we still able to see the problem.

This is a font-problem in combination with an autocorrect feature that
replaces "minus" by a "dash".
Times seems to be installed in different versions/encodings so when
the font changes another font is used to display the text on screen.

You may want to give another font (like Gentium:
http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/page.php?site_id=nrsi&item_id=Gentium
) a try or disable the replacement in Tools|AutoCorrect/AutoFormat ->
Options -> [ ] [ ] Replace dashes

duplicate.
