Description antonbijl 2003-11-21 07:15:29 UTC
To recreate your autocorrect settings must be set to correct two initial
capitals as you type:
1. Open a text document
2. Type GHz and press enter
3. Autocorrect changes GHz to Ghz.
4. Now run spellcheck. (Using UK Engligh or US English dictionary)
5. Spellcheck suggests that Ghz should be changed to GHz.

The correct spelling is GHz, and spellcheck knows this, so autocorrect shouldn't
try to change it. My suggestion is that autocorrect should check spelling before
correcting the two initial capitals (and possibly other autocorrect features too).

This can of course be overcome by entering exceptions, but why should the user
have to manually specify exceptions if they are already in the dictionary?

Hi,

This is not something that lingucomponent can control (autocorrect is not part of
lingucomponent).

So I am moving this issue to the Writer (sw) project so that the right people can see
it.

Thanks,

Kevin

Sorry, my mistake. I think it should actually be framework, since it
happens on all the apps.

Cheers

I have the same problem here. Is anyone working on solving this bug?
