Description schlenther 2003-11-23 17:53:50 UTC
Impress presentations with lots of slides lose images when they are embedded and
not linked to external filed. At some stage, the images disappear after the file
has been saved. The image rectangle is still displayed, but with an image icon
on the empty inside.

This seens to happen on files with more than 30 slides, independent of file
size. When the images are linked with external files, everything works fine.

There are two known bugs about loosing graphics.
- The Temp folder is nearly full while saving the document. We are
working on this bug and it will be fixed soon.
-> Workaround: delete some files from te Temp folder so that tmp has
enough space.
- graphics disappears when the file is password protected. This bug is
fixed in the meantime. The fix will be integrated in OOo1.1.1
-> Workaround: use save as instead of save and make sure that 'Save
with password' is deselected.

utomo > CGU:
Both will be solved in 1.1.1fix1 or 2 ?
Thanks

I hope reporter will try it to confirm that the problem solved.

Looks a little like DUP of issue 16297 or issue 18997 or issue 22310.

Reporter, can you check that?

It might be useful to attach a (zipped) folder with
- document.sxi _with_ images
- document.sxi _with_lost_ images
- images separate in the same folder

Hi utotmo

I don't know what do you mean with OOo1.1.1Fix1. Please tell me the build ID of
the version which you mean.

the missing graphics in password protected files is fixed in OOo1.1.1.
the missing graphics because of a full /tmp (Unix/Linux only) folder will be
fixed later.

Hi Christian,

I ask if this fix will be included in OOo 1.1.1b (OOo 1.1.1fix2) or already in
1.1.1a (before it named 1.1.1fix1).

So this is not all solved in OOo 1.1.1 ?
quote:
the missing graphics in password protected files is fixed in OOo1.1.1.
the missing graphics because of a full /tmp (Unix/Linux only) folder will be
fixed later.

When the temporary folder problem will be fixed ? in OOo 1.1.1 Final or later ?

Thanks

Hi Utomo

This is very hard to fix.
We will fix it to OOo 2.0

Thanks for the info Christian,

Can you give tips/tricks to minimize the problem.
Such as adjusting the memory in the tools options.
which memory is related to this ?
and what is the side effect of making the memory setting bigger in that part ?

and _if possible_ please consider for OOo 1.1.2. as this make user angry if
they loosing image like this.

Thanks

This issue is duplicate to issue 10101
Issue 10101 is fixed and integrated in OOo 1.1.1
I close this issue.
Please reopen it if the bug still occures in OOo1.1.1.
