Description Martin Hollmichel 2003-12-09 20:35:20 UTC
when you try to login on OOo homepage, you get redirect to servlets/TLogin and
have to login in a second time on servlets/TLogins
Comment 1 Unknown 2003-12-10 16:38:20 UTC
You need to clear out your cache, clear your cookies and restart the browser.
Once this is done you won't be redirected.
Comment 2 pavel 2003-12-10 17:52:45 UTC
yes. Thanks. Hmm...
Comment 3 pavel 2003-12-14 16:09:58 UTC
Closing.
Comment 4 jjr16 2003-12-18 17:08:13 UTC
I am having the same problem and I was wondering if there was another
alternative fix that could be done on the website side to prevent this problem.
I am thinking of those people who are not computer savvy and would not think to
do search for this issue and then even have a clue how to delete their browser's
cache and cookies.

(I'm the one who filed 24093. After ST marked it as a duplicate of this issue, I
added the following comment there:)

"You need to clear out your cache, clear your cookies and restart
the browser. Once this is done you won't be redirected."
Then why do I get this problem also with Lynx which I haven't used before?
Comment 7 askoning 2004-01-07 09:36:21 UTC
Maybe an idea to add myself to CC so that I can follow both issues ;)

On request of Stefan, after some miscommunication between us, I reopen this issue.

THere's a comment about cookies and cache. I do not operate my browser with
caching. I still experience this double login in problem. I will look to see if
I can locate the problem.
Comment 12 askoning 2004-01-10 09:40:58 UTC
I just downloaded Mozilla Firebird 0.7 (Linux, again) and experienced the same
problem. Have never ever used Firebird before.
Upgrading my normal Mozilla to 1.5 and then clearing my cache did solve the
problem for one session. After closing and restarting Mozilla I got a warm
welcome by the same, good old servlet ;)

This issue is still in the engineering queue.
I just queried the engineer for an update as well.

St

The engineer reports that the login page is redirected to a cookie check.
So before making any changes i wanted to confirm, if there was any specific
request from OO for redirect to cookie check for security reasons ??

-mohan

Comment 22 stx123 2004-03-24 13:21:54 UTC
No, we didn't request a cookie check. Could you explain what cookie does?
Comment 23 Unknown 2004-03-25 06:25:03 UTC
The cookie chech allowed to keep track of the user browsing info, or rather
log an ID file for a particular session

A solution suggested by eng is that giving a link to login-page from the home
page. If this is ok with you we could go about this through branding

Comment 24 stx123 2004-03-25 10:30:10 UTC
No, I would prefer to have a way to login from the home page directly.
This works fine for dynamic pages and we would like to use it from staticized
pages and the home page too.
Comment 25 Unknown 2004-04-01 11:57:17 UTC
Have already filed your response to the Engineers
waiting for their response

-mohan
Comment 26 Unknown 2004-04-08 12:46:35 UTC
From what i figure Homepage seems to be a static page..so was this a request
by Open office.

The answer to the question would change the approach for the solution

-Mohan
Comment 27 stx123 2004-04-08 17:51:29 UTC
The homepage *is* a static page. This was/is needed to cope with the load
produced by requests of the home page.
Comment 28 Unknown 2004-04-14 00:52:30 UTC
Mohan,

Can you test this out again & let me know your results?
Thanks,

Eric
Comment 29 Unknown 2004-04-15 02:45:10 UTC
The fix for this issue was supposed to be applied to stage, but has been pushed
back to engineering for review of the fix.
I should have another update by the end of this week.
Eric
Comment 30 Unknown 2004-04-16 22:57:18 UTC
Engineering has reviewed this patch. The internal issue has now been passed back
to our inst engineer to apply this to stage & test.
I will keep monitoring this internal issue & keep this issue up to date with our
internal status.
Eric
Comment 31 Unknown 2004-04-22 00:47:07 UTC
Engineering is still in the process of completing the build instance.
I am following up with engineering here on the problem that our engineer
encountered.
I will keep monitoring the internal issue & let you know upon status change here.
Eric
Comment 32 Unknown 2004-04-28 21:32:08 UTC
Engineering is still working on this new instance set, I have queried for an
update here.
Eric
Comment 33 Unknown 2004-05-06 04:28:54 UTC
We are awaiting testing completion of this patch fix.
I have inquired for an engineering update here to now make sure this will be
included in the next instance rollout.

Eric
Comment 34 Unknown 2004-05-06 15:37:38 UTC
Testing is complete & added to the new instance set.

Eric
Comment 35 Unknown 2004-05-11 23:27:41 UTC
I have asked to have the new instance set applied to stage.
Eric
Comment 36 Unknown 2004-05-12 23:41:53 UTC
Hi Stefan,
I just received confirmation that this instance set has been rolled out onto the
stage box.
Please verify & give feedback concerning this issue.
Thanks,
Eric
Comment 37 Unknown 2004-05-13 01:13:21 UTC
Hm, my initial testing on the stage site sent me to the tlogin page. I am not
convinced that this one is fixed.

Eric
Comment 38 Unknown 2004-05-25 16:45:11 UTC
This is now fixed and verified in the stage system.
Comment 39 Unknown 2004-06-10 06:57:01 UTC
Does someone at OO care to test this now?
Comment 40 lsuarezpotts 2004-06-10 07:06:54 UTC
reassigning to someone at OOo :)

cheers
Louis
Comment 41 stx123 2004-06-10 17:04:21 UTC
As mentioned in an email we verified the fix on the staging site.
It works fine.
Following your example I added an entry verified_on_stage in the status whiteboard.
Comment 42 Unknown 2004-07-06 16:02:58 UTC
Login page works fine now.
Comment 43 stx123 2004-07-06 18:19:07 UTC
