Description searob 2003-12-11 08:31:58 UTC
Will be able to build children cells (nodes) from parent cells. Storing data in
expandable and collapsable trees provides the same benefits as an XML editor.
Unlike a regular XML editor, spreadsheet references, formulas, and macros will
make it much easier to build complex data structural referencing and manipulation.

Each cell node should have tiny icons that perform related functions, such as
expanding (toggle collapsing) branches and adding a new node (one click, no
pop-up required).

The right-click pop-up menu include tasks such as those described above and
deleting a node.

The user should be able to move a node to some other branch by the drag and drop
process similar to moving the contents of one table cell to another. The user
should be able to move one node to a regular table cell and thus placing that
form control there with that moved node now being the root node for that cell.

Each node can be one cell or a table of cells that uses the same column and row
designation as regular table cells (B9). The pop-up menu for this form control
will allow the user to append more columns or rows, defaulting to 1. The user
may use hot-keys to do this faster: (Down arrow key + Enter) will append a new
row below the current cell; (Up arrow key + Enter) will insert a new row above
the current cell; (Right arrow key + Enter) will append a new column to the
right of the current cell; (Left arrow key + Enter) will insert a new column to
the left of the current cell.
