Description www_gmc 2003-12-15 17:42:12 UTC
The user creates a MS Word document (see Dec03.doc), open it in oowriter and
immediately exports to PDF. If he/she uses "Screen" optimization the image in
the pdf is mangled (see Dec03.pdf). If print optimization is used, the issue
doesn't appear. I appreciate the screen optimized should give more compressed
images but the image is unreadable in xpdf or win32 acrobat reader.

Not seen when tried on debian linux. Not seen with several other similar
documents (eg the november edition of same mag) in WinXP including the same image.

Thanks
Gavin

Comment 3 christof.pintaske 2003-12-16 16:46:18 UTC
cp->pl: please have a look, printing to file with SO7 on Linux worked correctly
Comment 4 philipp.lohmann 2004-01-12 09:23:05 UTC
pl->sj: looks like the known quality issue.
Comment 5 sven.jacobi 2004-01-21 11:15:01 UTC
Yes, it seems to be the known quality issue.

SJ->MMP: As I think you are working on the specification for our next pdf
improvements, this issue is probably double or should be addressed in further
pdf enhancements.

MMP>CP: Thanks for taking over.
Comment 8 christof.pintaske 2004-05-25 18:57:39 UTC
targeted for 2.0 according to
http://specs.openoffice.org/appwide/pdf_export/PDFExport.sxw
Comment 9 christof.pintaske 2004-05-25 18:58:34 UTC
really is an enhancement
Comment 10 christof.pintaske 2004-07-30 15:44:04 UTC
I put this on duplicate to #i20327#. We will improve on the image quality as
described there. In fact the better image quality (default setting 90% jpeg,
optionally losless compression) and the new dialog are already implemented in
CWS pdf01.
