Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 23893
Formula highlighting doesn't work when sheet name contains a blank
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:13:14 UTC
Double clicking on a cell with a formula that references other cells causes the other cells to be outlined in either red or blue. But this only works for cells on the same sheet as the formula. It should highlight the cells on any sheet within the spreadsheet. I note that it will currently highlight cells on the current sheet that are out of view and require scrolling the sheet to see the highlighted cell and that the cells in another sheet are not currently highlighted even if they are in view due to being opened in another window.
Hi taverngeek, works for me at least on a Solaris8/CDE exactly as you requested. Also in another window. Please check tools->options->spreadsheet->view->display->'show reference in color' Peter

Created attachment 12173 [details] shows failure to highlight sheet 'test 1':a4
Upon further investigation on why it doesn't work for me in my spreadsheet I discovered that highlighting doesn't work if the referenced sheet has a space in the sheet's name. If you open my attached spreadsheet then clicking on sheet1:a3 will light up sheet2:a4, but clicking on sheet1:b4 will not light up 'test 1':a4
Yes, reproduceble when the sheetname contains a blank.
accepting.

Also, the highlighting of the actual formula (coloured to match its cell highlighting) only works on the part of the sheet name after the last space in it. Same for range names etc.
