Hello. I received a document (from IBM). People who open the document using
Microsoft Word see a six page document. Those of us who are using openoffice
just get almost all of the first page, followed by part of the 6th page,
followed by 7 apparently blank pages.

The original file is available as http://www.cs.columbia.edu/~morris/new_course.doc

This file was NOT created to demonstrate the word processor, I have generally
found your openoffice product excellent for looking at documents people
send me (I get a lot of powerpoint e-mail), so I'm just sending you this
file as an example of a document that does not work. It is about 92,160 bytes.

Thank you,

Morris Pearl

P.S. I'm running linux, with a 2.4.19 kernel.
Openoffice (when I push the "about" button under
help says OpenOffice.org 1.1.0

I downloaded and installed Openoffice on December 14, 2003.

The file I attached is the same file for which I gave the URL.

There's a table which cells spread across more than one page. OO Writer isn't
capable of showing this. This problem is adressed in issue 2109 and will be
fixed for OO 2.0.
