Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 24362
Text in some CJK fonts rotated in right-to-left (vertical) mode
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:15:37 UTC
Some fonts (e.g., Baekmuk Dotum), when *displayed* on screen, are rotated 90 degrees in right-to-left (vertical) mode. (When printed, the text comes out correctly, i.e., not wrongly rotated.)

acli, could you pls. attach a document that shows the error and mark those characters, which are rotated by error. Thanks a lot.

This seems to only occur for the following: 1. In some fonts, some (not all) punctuation marks are not rotated (see PNG file). 2. When characters are bolded (for example) (i.e., no actual font exists), all the bolded characters are also not rotated. (No screen shot available; xwd decides that it doesn't like me taking screen shots of OOo today. When I run OOo in Xnest, the two lines of bolded characters became a small square in the PNG file shown as.) The behaviour of printouts for the above are the following: For 1: Those punctuation marks remain not rotated (stays wrong). For 2: The characters are rotated correctly (prints right, looks wrong on screen).
@submitter: pls. try a current snapshot of OO.o and report back whether the problem persits. Thx.

ES->HDU: I still can reproduce it (no rotation) in an OOF_m8 (Build 9119). Please find out if this is a font problem. The problem with bold is well known but has been fixed some months ago. Tested with: ftp://ftp.mizi.com/pub/baekmuk/
