Description bugzeln 2004-01-16 11:07:42 UTC
In the 'External Data' dialog, I can add an url to the txt file. Also, in the
'Text import' dialog, I can see the columns and rows containing the data of the
txt file.
However, if I confirm the 'Text import' dialog, there will be no data in the
'Available Tables/Ranges' field of the 'External Data' dialog, so the OK button
is disabled and I can't insert the external data.
This is annoying, as a simple 'copy paste' ('paste special', respectively) did't
work in that case, and it is not possible to open a txt file with ooo calc
('file -> open -> [txt-file]' will open ooo writer!)
Please contact me if you need further information or screenshots!

have a nice day 8-)

Hi Ellen,

this is a double to Issue 1834.

You can import txt Documents into Calc

a) use the file open dialog and set the filter to Text CSV
b) use Insert Sheet from File
