Description apoka 2004-01-19 19:45:05 UTC
if i insert a *.gif or *.jpg into a *.sxw , i (and a friend) have
the problem that this inserted picture sometimes isn´t displayed
any more. Just a white field remains, sometimes even the space where
the picture was is gone.

Sorry about this quite confusing description, but this is reproducable
on two Win-XP machines. Let me add that i don´t have this problem at work
with OO1.1 Linux + SuSE 8.2

Thank you for listening - Andreas

HI->OD: Can't reproduce. Maybe you know something.

This happens to me ever since 680m79 (currently 680m87). I'm using Windows 2000
SP-4. I insert a picure (usually .jpg or .gif). The picutre initially displays
in the document, but after some editing either of the picture/graphic itself or
text, only the placeholder is visible, and only the placeholder will print.
After many retries in each of several different documents, I can sometimes get
the picture to stay visible long enough to print if I happen to hit on just the
right order of editing steps, or print immediately after inserting the image
with no further editing in the document.

hi,
does maybe increasing the value in Tools -> Options -> OOo -> Memory -> Graphics
cache help?
Comment 5 codger 2005-04-24 22:41:35 UTC
Maybe, but the problem no longer exists in 1.9.95. It works!
Comment 6 bernhard 2006-09-29 22:42:49 UTC
Reading codger's comment this issue seems to be solved.

So I close it as WORKSFORME.

Feel free to reopen it, if you can reproduce it traceable in a current version.
