Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 24732
Very poor MSO compatibility: columns/pictures/text out of position.
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:38:26 UTC
We have an information piece that was created in Word97 and OOo doesn't handle very well at all. It is 2 pages of 3 columns each in landscape with pictures. It has quite a lot wrong with it, so the best way would be to just open it and see the problems.
Created attachment 12668 [details] The document in question.
Reassigned to MRU
Yeah, not only the page layout is 3-columnded; the text inside these columns is also put in text boxes. The positioning of such textboxes will be heavily improved for OO 2.0 (you can test this with one of the next snapshots, maybe 680m22 or sth. like this). MRU->CMC: only a minor thing's left for you. On first page the textbox "Wheelchair Rugby" is anchored to the wrong paragraph.
cmc->mmaher: Can you have a check of this while I'm out of office, don't trust the UI, check for the 0x01, 0x08 anchor inside the WordDocument stream (delete as necessary to boil down to the graphic and affected paragraphs), don't get excited that the document probably looks like rubbish, all that will work when the sw object layout workspaces get integrated (in theory at least)
