Description augustus.saunders 2004-01-28 03:49:59 UTC
Presentations made with competitor's pruduct that have explicitly renumbered
bullet points, like:

3) 3.
4) 4.
5) 5.

for example, do not import correctly. This will display as:

FL->CL: We need a "Start at" feature like in Writer or PP. Is the implementation
realistic for OO.org 2.0 time frame?

CL-FL: If you had asked me this question in januar when this issue was filed I
would have said yes. Now three month later the answer is "No"

I successfully replicated the error in Windows XP version 2002 Service Pack 2
with OOo 2.0 as well as in Linux 2.4.31 with OOo 1.1.0 and 2.0. I reproduced
the error using the following steps:

1.I created a presentation in PowerPoint 2002.
2.Under Format->Bullets and Numbering there is an option to start the numbering
at any number. I chose to start the numbering at 3.
3.I saved the file and opened it in OOo.

My results were exactly the same as asaunders shown above.

In fact I ran further tests under different numbering formats and ended up with
the same results. These results are shown below.

Power Point OOo
iii. 3. i. 3.
iv. 4. ii. 4.
v. 5. iii. 5.

iii) 3. i) 3.
iv) 4. ii) 4.
v) 5. iii) 5.

C. 3. A. 3.
D. 4. B. 4.
E. 5. C. 5.

Eventually I ran every format and all formats gave the same result.

cl->sj: in OOo 3.0 the edit engine support such numbering, please implement in
ppt/pptx filters
