MRU->CMC: quite odd... I cannot see any additional font property which could
make the engraved text as it looks like in the exported sample here. Also, when
opening the doc in Word, switching the engraved property off and on again, it
looks good... have no idea. can you see something from the document code?
Comment 3 caolanm 2004-02-10 11:14:25 UTC
cmc->mru: I see the problem. Its the automatic text colour. In word type some
text and select it to be engraved. Clicking the engraving tickbox in word
automatically in the UI also changes "automatic" colour to "white". So if you
start off in writer and select the engraved text and change the colour from
automatic to white then it looks fine.

cmc->ama: Look at the attached .sxw, font colours black and white are all
treated the same by writer for rendering engraving, while in word they are
different. In both black is treated the same as automatic for automatic on white
bg text, but differently from word writer treats automatic colour engraved on
white the same as white on white.

related problems reported on Ubuntu:

from me:
 - effects Embossed and Engraved only shown on the screen when the font colour
is set to black. With all other colours (incl. automatic): not visible

from Andrea Pescetti:
 - I confirm the effects are nearly invisible for colored (I tried red)
text. Automatic for me is rendered the same as black, and works. PDF
export does not change anything for red text in my case.
