Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 25906
Stylist / Navigator cannot be minimized (OOo 1.1.0 on Win XP)
Last modified: 2006-01-27 12:53:59 UTC
Stylist / Navigator windows cannot be minimized (Missing "minimize" button left of closing button ("x")). Earlier StarOffice and current Linux OOo versions allow Stylist / Navigator to be minimized.
Hi spdobro, What is the functions of minimizing it ? Yes we only have X (close button), but you also will be able to access it easily in toolbar again. please explain why we need minimize beside close ? and better if you provide screenshot of the Stylist / Navigator windows in minimize. Thanks I change to feature, instead of defect.
It's much easier and faster (less mouse movement) to access minimized stylist (simpy go to stylist header and double click, as I always do in Linux or press unminimize button like in OOo 1.x), than go with mouse to the button bar, press stylist button and then to to the stylist and choose style.

Tested in OOo 2.0.1 on PC WinXP SP2, using Writer. I would suggest closing this issue, since the discussed functionality is actually present in the current UI. Although a 'minimise' button doesn't exist on the window title bar, it can be achieved using a single mouse click by two methods: 1) On the 'Formatting' tool bar, click on 'Styles and formatting' icon to make the Stylist visible (=maximised) or invisible (=minimized). Equally for Navigator, on the 'Standard' toolbar, clicking the 'Navigator' icon has the same effect. or... 2) First dock the stylist / navigator window, then click on the controller (part of the docked frame) for 'Hide' (=minimized) and 'Show' (=maximized). These functions seem to satisfy the requirements of this issue. This seems to be a duplicate of Issue 8095. Also, since Issue 8647 wont be fixed, it seems reasonable to close this. Regards, Andrew
