Description t8m 2004-03-02 19:57:07 UTC
If you try to select partial column by keyboard (shift+arrow down) then copy it
(ctrl+c) and then you want to paste the selected content right next to the right
of the selection you have to press arrow up key as many times as you've pressed
the shift+arrow down.

This operation is used very often and it would be much easier to do if the
cursor simply stayed in the first selected cell and by pressing the right arrow
key you would be right in the cell where the pasted selection should begin.
The same thing can be similarly applied when you try to copy partial rows.

This (to leave the cursor on the first cell) would be good idea even when you
select contiguous area by mouse click + drag.

If you want to observe this behaviour in action try Gnumeric (maybe even Excel
but I'm not sure if it's exactly like that).
