Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 26881
RTF files specifying unknown fonts display with subminiature dots, no warning
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:39:21 UTC
OpenOffice.org 1.1.1RC3, also happened in OOo 1.1.0 When I import a Rich Text Format (.rtf) file which was produced by MS Word, and which specifies a font not in Writer's list of fonts, e.g. "Times New Roman", there is NO error message, and the characters are rendered as miniscule (unreadable) dots. I can send you an example RTF if needed.
Created attachment 14002 [details] RTF file with Times New Roman font needed.
set prio P2 -> P3
Hi, you have to install the "Times New Roman font" also on your linux system.. then it will work.. I change this issue from Defect to Enhancement since it would be reasonably helpful for the Enduser being presented a warning message as you propose. found no duplicate to this issue, setting to confirmed.
The problem (subminiature dots, no warning) also happens with XML files containing unknown fonts.
