Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 28306
ASCII file does not show on screen
Last modified: 2004-08-04 14:30:57 UTC
When I load an ASCII file, the file does not show up on the screen. i.e. the screen remains blank. I have to click on the screen before the file will appear.
hello, does this happen only with a specific ASCII file or with all ASCII files in general?
Please Attach the documents which make this problem, so we can test it/faster to confirm. (Without the documents, we cannot confirm the problem easily/need more time) Don't forget to cut other part of the documents, so the file size is small, but we still able to see the problem.
.
Since I'm out of votes, I thought I would just add that I found the same thing yesterday when loading an ASCII file -- nothing until I did a Page Down when it suddenly appeared. Running linux version, so it might not be OS specific.
re-assigned to US.
This happens with all ASCII files. I hestitate attaching a file, as you do not take ZIP files and I'm only able to create ZIP files. I did notice, however, that this problem is intermittent. This may be a framework problem, as if an ASCII file is the first thing that's being used, it loads properly. But, if the Suite had been in use for a while, the problem appears.
IssueZilla accepts zip-Files, there are even two choices: Binary file, .jar file, .class file, .zip file (application/octet-stream) and ZIP compressed (application/x-compressed) but you don't have to zip it, you can attach it as plain text as well. It would be great if you could come up with a scenario where this is reproducible. When the problem occurs, does it help to do a screen refresh (<ctrl>+<shift>+r) or to minimize and restore the window or to switch between another application and OOo?
utomo > memyselfi: yes Issuezilla accept zip. as cloph explain. if your documents contain secret data you can send it to the developer directly to us@openoffice.org Thanks
I've seen here no problem using OOo1.1.2RC2 on Solaris /RedhatLinux9....
WORKSFORME. No answer for more than 30 days, not reproducible.
closing. Reopen if you can provide the requested information/testcase.
