Description contixy 2004-05-11 14:43:59 UTC
Hello,

I do not know if it is ab bug, but when I copy tabels from MS Access or
Navision into a spreadsheet and a field is defined as text but is filled with
numbers the field beginns with ' . A field with the value 1000 becomes '1000.
It can not be formated as a number, the only way to calculate with these
fields is to erase the ' manualy.

Hi,

this behaviour is correct. The table definition from the Access database is
text. Numbers in these fields will be exported as text. This is indicated by the
apostrophe in front of them.

You have wo choices to remove them :

1. Change the field definition in Access to number
2. Use search and replace on the selected column with '.*' (without the quotes)
as search string and '&' (without the quotes) as the replace string and regular
expression enabled.
