Description mgatto 2004-06-23 13:01:55 UTC
I'm attaching an OOo Presentation file, in which, on a particular page (page
17), there is a "connecter" line that doesn't get exported correctly when I save
the file as MS PPT. I'm pretty sure it is OOo's PPT export which is not working
correctly, because when I reopen/import the exported PPT file back into OOo, it
shows up the same (incorrect) way that it shows up when I open the file in MS
Powerpoint.

To reproduce, export the attached OOo Presentation file to MS PPT, and then
re-open the PPT file in OOo, and notice that the connecter on page 17 got
"straightened out" afterwards (in other words, its dimensions seem to get lost
in the export).

Duplicated on Win XP Pro 2002 SP1, OOo 1.1.2
Duplicated on Win XP Pro 2002 SP1, OOo 2.0_680

In future though i suggest you remove unrelated parts of your attachment, it
makes it quicker to check

New information: i tried copying and pasting your connector to a new document,
to upload it as a simpler example. when i then attempts ot resize the connector
it straightens itself. This is WITHOUT ever exporting it to PPT, perhaps the
exporting process is ot where the error lies as the lines seems to act oddly anyway.

1) Open the attached document
2) Flip to page 17
3) Copy the connector to the clipboard
4) Start a new, blank presentation
5) Past the connecotor in
6) use the handel at the right to try to change the shape slightly

if it responds the way it did for me, it will straighten out. It also did this
if i saves to .sxi before trying to change the shape. It doesn't seem to be an
exporting problem.

Yes, you seem to be right. I can verify the behavior you describe, where,
pasting the connecter into a new presentation and then adjusting the connector's
handle causes it to straighten out.

However, I can save the new presentation to .sxi without it straightening out
(as long as I don't adjust the connector before saving the new document).

Did you try saving it after pasting, then closing and reopening your new file,
it straigtens out when you reopen for me.

Yes, when I paste the connecter into a new file, save it as .sxi, close it, and
reopen it, it straightens out.

wg @ lc3: Hello, thanks for your help. But please do not use the expression
"duplicate" if the issue is reproducible on another OS. Duplicate is normally
used when there is already another issue filed describing the same bug. Thanks
again!
Reproducible in a current internal version, too.
Reassigned to Armin.

I am a teacher that has been using Impress for about a year, and this is the one
bug that drives me nuts.
Comment 9 jmgorro 2008-06-16 11:27:33 UTC
I can check that is still experienced on XP SP2 + OO 2.4

Any forecast when it could be solved?
