Description bigserpent 2004-06-23 14:40:51 UTC
OO can't open long file names from explorer. OO tries to break it into 2 parts
and complains for each part it cannot fing the file. Opening files from OO
itself works ok.

How long are you talking about? Try attaching a file with a long enough name and
we can see if we can open it.

This only happens with *.doc files, not *.sxw files. The file must contain space
" " to be not able to be opened from Explorer. The length doesn't matter.

Unable to duplicate on Win XP Pro 2002 SP1, OOo 1.1.2. Tried naming document
"Test Doucument.doc" (and tried longer names). It sounds like a problem in the
way the executable is called (perhaps a problem with win2000, i dont seem to
have the same problem)

Somebody with 2k please try to duplicate this.

SW: can't reproduce this on Win2k either, something else beside the space ?
Perhaps special characters in the filename ?
