Description ajkessel 2004-07-01 18:54:57 UTC
This is a follow-up to issue #30166
<http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=30166>.

OOo 1.1.2 autocompletes when attempting to load a file, but when attempting to
save a file. I understand that you might not want users being able to so easily
overwrite existing files, but I suggest that autocompletion for *directory*
names would be quite useful and unlikely to result in unintentional overwrite
(the worst case, I suppose, is that you unintentionally enter another directory).

Perhaps the autocompletion code doesn't currently distinguish between directory
and filenames, so maybe this wouldn't be trivial to implement, but if it's easy
to do, I think it would be quite useful.

You could also have an option/preference for allowing autocomplete on "Save As."
I think Linux users in particular are accustomed to autocompletion in all
contexts. If I'm not mistaken, recent GNOME applications will autocomplete with
tab for both load and save.
